HUGO BIJAOUIHB

JULIA

JULIA tells three stories. The one that is translated, the one that is written, and the one about Hugo’s great-grandmother.

This work translates text into knitting. It is a tribute to Julia Masson, who was a seamstress. The texts translated here are the only ones Julia has left behind: her cooking recipes. A simple legacy becomes a series of 0s and 1s, then returns to matter, to the thread of the text.
