PXLROOM is an immersive 7 m² capsule lined with 84 pixels, in which a music-and-light performance unfolds. The musician creates the sound with their instruments, and the artist answers in light with his own: a light-instrument that captures the gestures he throws into the air and translates them into luminous pulses. Here, light does not obey; it is played, bare-handed, like one more instrument. Each performance happens once, behind closed doors, and is then recorded. No face can be made out: appearance fades away in favor of light, music, and gesture. The performed moment and its trace, together, form the work. The series consists of fifteen music-and-light performances, played within the PXLROOM.
